"this is my story"

“ I am so thankful because what Turame has given to us is more than money. Anyone can beg for money on the streets, but at the end of the day the money is used to buy necessary items and that person is forced to stand on the streets again the following day just to survive. My son was very sick, to the point of almost dying - and i felt there was nothing I could do. When I received my loan, I was able to take him to the clinic and get the medicine that healed him. Even though what was left of the loan wasn’t much, I used it to begin a business that has given me enough profit to bring my repayments in every two weeks and not let down my Lending Group. The business training we have in our lending group is teaching me many things about earning money that can continue to grow. I have been able to take care of my son. I have been able to start a business. Turame has made it so I hold my head straight instead of looking at the ground with the shame of being a very poor person.”

  2. I was visiting a lending officer to document HIS story but some of the people in the lending group he was attending to wanted to tell their stories to these representatives from the main Turame office. my friend, Alex, who was traveling with me listened and she gave me a synopsis of what was said. I hope I did her story justice. And I wished, for the thousandth time, that I spoke a common language.
